Weerlicht
The lights of a city’s skyline reflect in the water and are distorted by the wind. ‘Weerlicht’ is an installation of these light lines that reflect human presence. The light streaks are captured live and are influenced by the weather and by passing traffic and pedestrians. Rain turns them into digital noise, while wind and moving car headlights disrupt the reflections.
This installation explores the boundary between analog and digital and raises questions about our impact on the natural landscape. Although the light streaks can be seen as light pollution, they also reveal unexpected beauty. A collaboration between water and artificial light.
